Web site metrics - measuring the success of your web site

In order to measure the success of your web site or any web site promotional campaign an e-metric strategy is required. This strategy will define how your company will measure return on investment.

At the outset of any project we define an e-metric strategy and the data we need to gather in order to accurately measure success. Failure to design with this in mind at the outset will mean that when the e-project is reviewed future investment and decisions will be based on incomplete information.

The sort of information that may be relevant are:

  • Number of hits.
  • Number of unique visitors.
  • Number of responses to email campaigns.
  • Number of enquiries from the web site.
  • Number of online orders.
  • Total or average online sales.
  • Total or average online profit.
  • Total or average online margin.
  • Number of active customers.
  • Number of customer acquisitions.
  • Cost per customer acquisitions.

Annual Review

Your web site should be regularly reviewed, as your business, market place and customers evolve, to ensure you are continuing to maximise return on investment.

We realise that this requires the specialist skills of an internet consultant and therefore include a free annual review with all our projects.

During the review we will meet with all stakeholders to understand changes in your business and will analyse statistics gathered from the e-metric strategy set up at the start of the project. After careful evaluation we will produce a detailed report recommending future strategy.

If you would like to arrange a meeting to discuss how to implement an e-metric strategy please contact us.
